I think i'm young enough that i'm supposed to still be excited about technology but the idea of having to change online social networks yet again is no fun. why can't we all just stay where we are? i remember both the day facebook became known to us (the day we all swore we'd never switch from myspace) and the day when i realized every last one of my friends had switched, and i would have to do the same if i wanted to be a part of their online lives. being abroad you barely even exist without an internet presence.
(i kind of hope google+ doesn't pan out. sorry google, it just seems like too much work)
also, in the spirit of total disclosure i feel that i should say that i am in fact a member of google+. because choosing to be a part of something seems better than having to be. but i still hope it doesn't pan out. though i do really like everything in one place - except it's also super scary. maybe i just don't like change...but i do actually like google+ oh no! how do i know what is what?
ReplyDeletehaha. facebook was easier because we had already all deleted our myspaces beforehand, so there wasn't a phase were it was both. the both phase is what's confusing to me. i don't mind switching, but i hate too many things going on at once. like in the group project i am doing for school right now. :(

ReplyDeleteNo businesses. No bands. No "pages" to get affiliated with.
No moms. (And someday, when there are moms, I'll put them in a group called "moms", and never share anything with them.)
Way easier to screen out who-sees-what. Like stuff you only want to share with the 5 people who will think it's funny? Easy.
Just some initial thoughts.
